This coffeemaker does almost everything I want it to do,: make tasty coffee within a reasonable amount of time, look appealing on the drainboard, and is easy to use and clean. But the design on the carafe is not the best. The opening is so large that I almost always spill a little (sometimes more) coffee on the drainboard, floor, or myself. If I'm really careful, this is not a problem. Overall, a good product--especially for the price.

I received this coffee maker as a wedding present 3.5 years as of November 2000, and it is still functioning perfectly. The timer is a great feature that will allow you to wake up with a hot cup of coffee, or have it waiting for you when dessert time rolls around. The look is sleek and nice. The coffee is...well, coffeeish. But the very best part is that you can start pouring your first cup before it is done brewing...it's got a little valve that stops the coffee from pouring onto the hotplate and making a mess. Now that's worth the price of admission, my friend! I gave it four stars because the construction is a little flimsy, but rest assured because Krups really stands behind their products. And like I said, she's still going strong!

I would have to agree with what the previous customer reviewer has experienced with this coffeemaker. I find the timer a little feature that makes morning coffee preparation so much easier. We have had trouble with pouring coffee from the carafe, too. If the coffee is poured slowly, there is little or no problem. Everytime someone unfamiliar with the coffee pot pours a cup of coffee, they end up embarrassed by a large spill on the counter. Also, we have only had this coffee maker since 2/99, and my timer has already broken, just with normal, everyday use. I will admit being rather disappointed by that.
